Abgeschirmt: Tell us something about yourself:
Jordan: I have a terrible sense of smell. Also, I love sandwiches and pizzas.

Abgeschirmt: Do you remember your first photograph? What was its motive?
Jordan: I remember taking a couple of black and white disposable cameras on a family vacation when I was in middle school. I mostly just documented the trip, but there is one photo I remember being really proud of. An old family friend was taking us to a lighthouse and as he unlocked the door to the lighthouse, I snapped a picture of him. I really wish I could find that photo.

Abgeschirmt: Do you have an amazing story to share?
Jordan: I worked at a local convenience/dairy store this summer and there was a deaf man who would come in for ice cream occasionally. He came in often enough that we could communicate easily. Last time I saw him he gave me a note that said, “Cool-Your face of Lincoln Abraham.” I realized what he was saying immediately and wrote back, “I get that a lot.” We laughed and he went on his way. It was a nice moment that we shared together.

Abgeschirmt: Could you tell us more about this shot:

Jordan: On Father’s Day this year, I went kayaking with my dad. The weather had been wonderful and it was towards the end of the day, so the light was amazing. I took a couple pictures while we were kayaking, but I liked how that one turned out best.
